A room can contain no bug and still expose confidential conversations. We assess practical acoustic weaknesses and unintended RF leakage around sensitive meeting spaces.

Two Different Risks

Surveillance and leakage are not the same

A TSCM sweep searches for covert surveillance and suspicious electronic activity. A privacy leakage assessment examines whether ordinary speech or authorised wireless systems expose information beyond the intended room. The two services can be combined, but they answer different questions.

Airborne Speech

Conversation may pass through doors, glazing, ventilation paths, ceiling voids or poorly sealed partitions.

Structure-Borne Sound

Vibration may travel through walls, glass, pipes, floors or other connected building elements.

RF Coverage Leakage

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and conferencing signals may remain usable outside the intended private area.

Assessment Method

Practical tests in the real room

The objective is not a full building-acoustics certification unless specifically agreed. It is a proportionate technical screening of the room in representative conditions, followed by clear observations and practical recommendations.

  • Room-use review — understand normal occupancy, speech levels, meeting layout and neighbouring spaces.
  • Boundary inspection — examine doors, glazing, partitions, ceilings, vents and penetrations relevant to privacy.
  • Controlled sound checks — assess whether test speech or representative sound becomes intelligible outside the protected area.
  • Structural observations — identify building elements that may provide vibration paths requiring further specialist investigation.
  • Wireless coverage checks — map whether authorised radio systems extend into corridors, neighbouring rooms or public areas.
  • Mitigation advice — prioritise practical changes such as seals, room layout, masking, access control or wireless configuration review.
Interpreting Results

Signal level is not the same as information risk

For acoustic privacy, audibility and intelligibility are different: faint sound may be detectable without the words being understandable. For RF systems, seeing a signal outside the room does not by itself prove that protected information can be recovered. Results must be interpreted in context.

Useful before important meetings

A baseline assessment can identify recurring weaknesses in a boardroom. A shorter pre-meeting check may then confirm that doors, adjacent areas, temporary equipment and wireless settings remain consistent with the agreed controls.

What the client receives

Findings can document the areas assessed, representative test conditions, observed leakage paths, limitations and recommended improvements. Where a specialist laboratory-grade acoustic certification is required, we will make the distinction clear.

No Sensational Claims

The assessment is evidence-led. We do not label every audible sound or visible wireless signal a security breach; we investigate whether it creates a credible route for confidential information to leave the room.
