Vehicle Electronic TSCM Assessment
RF and electronic investigation together with inspection of accessible interior, luggage, engine-bay and exterior areas. Any access limitations are recorded.
An engineering-led vehicle TSCM service for cars and commercial vehicles where covert tracking, listening or electronic surveillance is suspected. Inspection scope is agreed in advance, including whether full underside access is required.
Tell us the year, make and model, whether it has an SOS/eCall button or connected-car app, where the vehicle is located and your basic concern. We can confirm the appropriate pricing tier before attendance.
Vehicles may contain factory telematics, GPS/GNSS receivers, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, keyless systems, tyre-pressure monitoring, alarm electronics, dash cameras and aftermarket accessories. That means an RF signal or unfamiliar module is not automatically a tracking device.
A useful investigation combines technical assessment with a systematic physical search and knowledge of how legitimate automotive electronics can appear.
Devices may use satellite positioning together with cellular or other communications for reporting.
Covert equipment can use mobile networks and may only communicate intermittently.
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other low-power radio methods can be present amongst legitimate vehicle systems.
Some devices may collect audio or data without transmitting RF during the inspection.
Older cars can be relatively straightforward to assess. Modern vehicles may contain factory SOS/eCall, telematics, cellular connectivity, GNSS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and connected-car services that must be identified and separated from anything suspicious. For that reason, workshop prices are tiered by electronic complexity.
For vehicles with relatively simple factory electronics and no obvious connected-car, SOS/eCall or factory telematics systems.
For vehicles with SOS/eCall, factory telematics, connected-car apps or other legitimate communications systems that make signal interpretation more involved.
For newer or highly connected vehicles with multiple communications, camera, telematics or driver-assistance systems requiring a more detailed technical assessment.
A 2017 vehicle with extensive factory telematics may fall into a higher tier, while a later vehicle with simpler electronics may not. Tell us the year, make and model and whether the vehicle has an SOS/eCall button or connected-car app; we will confirm the correct tier before booking.
Workshop inspections are carried out at our Northampton facility and use the tier prices above. Mobile attendance is available when the vehicle cannot be brought to us, but a call-out charge applies for travel time, equipment transport and on-site setup.
A workshop inspection gives us better control of the working environment and access to additional test equipment. A comprehensive underside tracker inspection still requires the vehicle to be safely raised on suitable professional lifting equipment or positioned over a suitable inspection pit and is quoted separately.
The exact process depends on vehicle type and circumstances, but the investigation is structured to avoid jumping to conclusions.
We establish why surveillance is suspected, recent access to the vehicle and any known aftermarket equipment.
Relevant RF and electronic activity is checked and suspicious behaviour is investigated further.
Accessible concealment and attachment areas are examined. A comprehensive external tracker search requires safe access to the full underside of the vehicle.
Any unexplained device or signal is assessed in context and the findings are clearly explained.
Electronic testing and an accessible physical inspection can provide useful evidence, but they are not the same as a comprehensive underside tracker inspection. A battery-powered magnetic tracker can be attached beneath a vehicle and may be dormant or not transmitting during the RF examination.
RF and electronic investigation together with inspection of accessible interior, luggage, engine-bay and exterior areas. Any access limitations are recorded.
For a full external tracker search, the vehicle must be safely raised on suitable professional lifting equipment, or positioned over a suitable inspection pit, so the underside can be systematically examined.
We do not describe an inspection as comprehensive if relevant areas could not be accessed. The agreed scope and any limitations are explained before attendance and reflected in the findings.
That is why a credible vehicle investigation cannot rely on an RF detector alone. Physical access and inspection are essential when the objective is a comprehensive search for externally attached devices.
Vehicle surveillance can take several forms, so the search should not be limited to a single device type.
Older or simpler vehicles can start from £495 at our Northampton workshop. Modern connected vehicles typically start from £695, with highly connected vehicles from £895. Vehicle age is a guide only; the make, model and fitted systems determine the final tier.
Tell us the year, make and model, whether the vehicle has an SOS/eCall button or connected-car app, and whether you can bring it to Northampton. We can then confirm the correct tier and price before you book.
