There is no universal method that can confirm whether a home contains a hidden listening device. Some devices transmit continuously, some communicate intermittently through cellular, Wi-Fi or other radio systems, and some can record locally without transmitting while they collect information.
Clicks on a telephone, battery drain, Wi-Fi problems and ordinary radio interference can have many innocent causes. They should not automatically be treated as evidence of surveillance. More useful information includes unexplained physical changes, unusual access to the property, an unfamiliar device or wiring, or specific information apparently becoming known to someone who should not possess it.
Small electronics can potentially be concealed in ordinary objects or within areas that have power and a useful acoustic position. That does not mean every socket, charger, smoke alarm or household object is suspicious. A professional search looks for anomalies in context rather than relying on a list of hiding places.
A simple RF detector can indicate nearby radio energy, but homes are full of legitimate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile phones, smart devices and alarm systems. It may also miss equipment that is dormant, recording locally or transmitting only briefly. Spectrum analysis and other complementary inspection methods provide much more information than an RF alarm alone.
