UK bug sweep cost guide covering vehicles, homes, offices and the factors that affect professional TSCM pricing.
The cost of a professional bug sweep depends on what is being inspected, the size and complexity of the environment, the concern being investigated, travel and the level of technical work required. Two services both described as a “bug sweep” may involve very different amounts of time, equipment and analysis.
Our current starting prices are £495 for a vehicle bug and tracker sweep, £695 for a flat or small residential property, £895 for a house, £795 for a small office or meeting room and £995 for broader corporate TSCM. Larger or more complex premises are quoted to scope.
Important factors include floor area, number of rooms or vehicles, RF complexity, access to cabling or equipment, the number of sensitive areas, whether an urgent attendance is required and whether suspicious electronics need further investigation. A corporate boardroom and a multi-floor office should not be priced as though they are the same task.
Ask what is actually included: who performs the inspection, their RF/electronics background, how long is allocated, which detection methods are used, how non-transmitting devices are considered, and whether reporting or follow-up analysis is included. Price alone does not establish quality, but neither does a high price.
A useful quotation should define the areas being inspected and the service being provided. For sensitive enquiries, basic information about the premises and concern is usually enough for an initial discussion; detailed confidential information need not be sent in the first message.
